Oliver Lewis just wants to run his family ranch on New Sonora, a colonized planet, with his sister and their aging farm bots. Unfortunately the transfer gate to Earth finally opens and Earth’s government decides to evict the settlers. The Apex Corporation turns the eviction into a video game, letting paying gamers remotely pilot war machines against the colonists in a blood sport called Operation Bounce House.
What the heck did I just read and why did I enjoy it so much?! Wanting to read Matt Dinniman and not wanting to wait ages for Dungeon Crawler to become available through Libby or the Library, I ended up listening to Operation Bounce House through the Libby app.
Audio is 100% the way to go here, it was so entertaining, completely outside of my usual wheel house and worth every second of wild and wacky chaos. Despite there being so many people in this world, so many authors, it can be hard to find original, and fresh ideas and plotlines (Heck, sometimes it’s hard to even feel original ourselves). This was definitely it for me though and I am more excited than ever to begin Dungeon Crawler!
Do you have a favorite Sci-Fi book?!
