Morning Readers & Happy Friday!
Ah, I barely made it in time today! It’s been a wild week running around to help with hay, help out with family & finally get the staging finished for the Airbnb, but everything is finally coming together! With all that driving this week I was able to listen to Maxie McCoy’s ‘You’re Not Lost’, and this one kind of surprised me.

Maxie help your shift focus from overwhelming big-picture questions to small, actionable steps. She shows how to build confidence, trust your instincts, and create momentum toward the life and career you want—one intentional choice at a time. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did, but Maxie show’s up as if she were you’re best friend, cheering you on, loudly and unconditionally, pom-poms and all!

I often listen to a podcast, The Mindset Mentor, and Maxie just felt so much in line with her positivity, but also her realistic approach to getting the work done. She drizzles the perfect amount of sass and personality into her delivery and reading.
Some of my favorite quotes:
“The truth is we’re living in a world that obsesses over achievement and outcomes, and missing the messy process of the journey entirely. Maybe you sort of know what you want but you have no idea how to get there. Or maybe you’re at a total loss for both, either way, you’re handcuffed both to your own obsession to thinking your way to a solution and to your belief that dreaming up the big picture is going to end the longing for direction in your life.”
“Let history remember that I gave you the actual definition of confidence, which is, ‘The level in which you believe your actions will have a positive outcome’. This is important because so much of finding your way is trust that what you do today will lead you somewhere you want to be tomorrow.”
“I can give you the seeds for your garden, but girl, you got to do the planting… and the raking, and re-soiling after the thunderstorm. Basically you got to do the work, because this book isn’t the answer, it’s here to help you realize that YOU ARE”
“Your path forward will become clear as you explore and unapologetically accept who you are at your core, according to you and only you. This return to yourself is so deeply tied to where you’re headed… Work every damn day to be the highest possible expression of yourself”
“All comparison kills is you… it’s no wonder we develop addition complexes when it comes to being ourselves and living our own lives, the ones we’re missing because we’re too busy scrolling.”
“Somewhere along the way you learned to root your confidence in the goals you’ve crossed off and the future ones you’ve written down. Just because you loose the goal, doesn’t mean you’ve lost yourself. You’re simply entering a time of recalibrating and rebuilding…success won’t make you happy, but happiness will make you successful, provided you believe in your core-self.”
“To change your life for the better, you’re going to be required to suck”
“Visualizing the process of success rather than its outcome is the real power between this technique. What most of us do however is visualize the outputs of success, which has proven to be completely ineffective…creating positive fantasies about the future results in less motivation to go after the end goal that we’re visualizing.”
“Fear and doubt feel similar… doubt comes about when we’re unsure about ourselves and what we’re doing. Fear turns on when we think there’s a real failure or dire consequences on the other side of our actions.”
“Mistakes aren’t signs you shouldn’t be doing this… these mistakes are signs that you’re trying and learning and growing. All mistakes are practice…signs of effort.”

This blog is still fairly new, really less than 4 months old, and I’ve still been feeling like I’ve been failing. Maybe it’s the title that spoke to me most, but Maxie reminded me that it’s the process we have to fall in love with. It’s stretching ourselves to grow and embrace all that we love about the journey; the sunny days spent and cozy nights spent reading, the stories that speak to our hearts and our souls, and helping a friend find their next adventure.
I hope you find your next adventure this weekend, Happy Reading!
