Morning Readers & Happy Wednesday!
We are jumping into August in an amazing way, with my first 5-star review of the month! This book was so refreshing, and a great pallet cleanser. A fantasy tale that’s hard to describe, although it would seem to fall somewhere into the realm of The Brothers Grimm. A strong cautionary folk tale vibe that was completely unexpected, and an almost lyrical writing style that is so uniquely the author’s own, it draws you in instantaneously.

I absolutely loved the analogy between literature (grammar) and magic. The idea that language is just as powerful as any magic we may imagine. The stories we tell, the worlds we create and the truths we share all have a power onto themselves and our words have the ability to reframe our past, shape our present and create our future.

There is a secondary bonus story included in this book, that is just as strange and as worthwhile of a read.

On an ending note, I was equally thrilled to learn that Amal is actually a Canadian author that lives right here in the city of Ottawa! It so cool to share this city with such talented people!
I hope a good book finds its way to you this week, Happy Reading!
