Morning Readers & Happy Wednesday!

My last review from November and I am so excited to share this one with you… I, Medusa by Ayana Gray!

Ayana Gray reimagines myth through the young eyes of Medusa, a mortal girl living among gods who has always longed for belonging. Hoping to find purpose in the temple of Athena, she instead discovers the cruel truth of divine power. Caught in the aftermath of a god’s wrath, ‘Meddy’ must confront what it means to have one’s story twisted by others and how to stand for truth.

Everything about this book was good, it was an enjoyable read with a solid storyline, writing style and characters. It had even pacing, and I adored the little details stuck in about the ancient Greek gods and their relationships. I used to love Ancient History and Mythology, and this was definitely it. It reminded me somewhat of the Princess Diaries series that Scholastic had (I loved Cleopatra).

I would place this at more of an older teen book, but think it would be an especially applicable read for girls nearing womanhood and learning agency and self-reliance.
