Morning Readers & Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and, phew, we are finally getting through some of the backlog of reviews from September! I am still very much so on my Library kick, and managed to pick up a copy of ‘The Knight and the Moth’ which, spoiler alert, I really enjoyed!

Six is a young Diviner who has spent nearly a decade serving the cathedral by interpreting visions from mystical beings known as the Omens. As her term of service nears its end, fellow Diviners begin mysteriously disappearing, and Sybil is forced to investigate beyond the safety of the cloister. Reluctantly paired with Rory, a skeptical knight who dismisses her faith, she must confront dark truths about the Omens, her society, and herself in a story that blends gothic atmosphere, fantasy intrigue, and slow-burn tension.

An exciting read from start to finish. This story delivers plenty of momentum, and gives a sense of nostalgia for the old fairy tales. While I did find myself predicting what was going to happen about half-way through the book, the ending sets up the sequel perfectly and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!
Quotes:
“I have always been afraid to dream… a facade, hoarding wealth, yet claiming to starve. You have no love for Traum, its Stonewater Kingdom, nor for the people who call you hallowed. Your glory may come from Aisling, but it was earned by the dreaming, the drowning, of Diviners like me”
My body had always been strong- and ever just enough. But whatever my soul was made of was frail. Like birch bark, like gossamer, like the wings of a moth.
“It’s hard to see who I am when I am lost in what’s expected of me. When you do the right thing for the wrong reason, no one praises you, When you do the wrong thing for the right reason, everyone does, even though what is right and wrong depends entirely on the story you’re living in. And no one says they need recognition or praise or love, but we all hunger for it. We all want to be special.”

I will definitely be reading the sequel to The Stonewater Kingdom series, it looks like the second book is due to be released Sept 1, 2026!
I hope you all are having a cozy fall weekend & Happy Reading!
