September Edit; Off-Script

Having a month off of school and work August and September blended together quite a bit for me, but it feels like I’m finally getting ahead! The trailer is finally on Airbnb & VRBO for next summer’s rentals, I’ve managed to read 42 books since May and quite honestly just staying sane feels this summer feels like a bit of a success in it’s own right! But here are a couple of things that really got me excited the past couple months!

  1. Bookish Giveaways!
While I’ve been slowly checking books off my TBR list and trying to build on Instagram I tend to come across a lot of posts for Book-related giveaways. I figured, why not list them all here to help get as many books as possible into the hands of other readers and help support the Reading community! Find a list of current bookish giveaways!
  2. Wednesday Adams American Girl Doll
Ok, I wouldn’t… but if I was ever going to spend $300 on a doll, it would probably be this one. The piranhas is the bag are just too much!
  3. Ghoul Friends
I am absolutely in love with this photo shoot, it hits all the perfect cute & spooky vibes!

4. Educated by Tara Westover
I read this book last month and decided to include this snippet here as I didn’t want the family drama associated with Tara’s book and the review itself. But holy smokes, after reading it, I found out that while ‘Educated’ was published in 2018, her mother published a rebuttal book called ‘Educating‘ in 2020. The audacity. While I absolutely believe everyone has a right to their own story and voice, I found it quite tasteless that a mother would be quite so blatant in her attempt to ride coat tails and overshadow her own daughter’s experiences and truth.

I kept digging… turns out the top rated review for Educating is from a sister-in law who was in the room on many occasions and testifies in her review that Will absolutely not be reading it out of principle, and can consider it my first blacklisted book.

5. Barbour X Tuckernuck
If I could buy every single piece in this new fall collection I would. It brings me straight back to my riding days as a kid and I would 100% wear all of it this season as we’re easing back into the ‘Ber months!

6. Lenox Christmas Ornaments
I am an absolute menace when it comes to Lenox, my plates, my cutlery… although my obsession with their Christmas Ornaments only started last year. How cute is this Book themed ornament, I think I might even get it personalized with the blog name!

7. West Coast Seeds
My favourite seed company, located on the west cost, is having a 40% off sale on all of their overstock! I am chomping at the bit to try out a few different varieties of their pumpkins, popcorn and sunflowers, this Pink Porcelain Princess Pumpkin being my absolute favourite this season!

I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are easy into these cozy fall months!
