Morning Readers & Happy Friday!
I hope you all had a great week and are ready for fall, it feels like we’re having our first few days easing to the new season with cooler nights a few much needed rainy days!
I was incredibly grateful for an extra bit of time to sit and dive into my latest book, Shield of Sparrows. It’s been a while since I was really able to loose myself in a book, as the last one probably would have been The Invisible Life of Addie Larue.

Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry is a romantasy about Odessa Cross, the overlooked princess suddenly forced into a political marriage meant for her sister. Thrust into enemy territory and tasked with espionage, she finds herself torn between duty and the pull of a mysterious monster hunter.
Packed with intrigue, slow-burn tension, and rich worldbuilding, this is the kind of story that sweeps you in, you won’t want to put it down!

Don’t ask me why but those quote, ugh, nearly brought me to tears!
“When I am nothing but dust and ash, Turah will endure. I do not need a crown. And I have made peace with my destiny. But before I step into my grave my choice is you.”
He dropped a kiss to my temple, his fingers tracing along my jaw his hand fell from my face. Then he stepped away, about to disappear into the night. “Sleep well, my Queen.”

It was interesting to learn that the author has written over 50 fantasies, and while I haven’t read her others, I can definitely imagine this one being her best work yet, absolutely loved it and would recommend it whole heartedly. I might even be looking at investing into a hard-cover copy for the shelf!
I hope you all have a great weekend & Happy Reading!
