What I Read this Month; July 2025

Morning Readers, I hope you all had a great June!

This was honestly an amazing month of reading! At some points it nearly got a little overwhelming, there were a lot of heavy hitters emotionally. Ultimately though, I really enjoyed the books this month and definitely found some new favorites I will absolutely not shut up about for years to come!

Burnout by Emily and Amelia Nagoski

Borrow it- 2/5 Stars

I appreciate the references to scientific studies, I really think this is under-utilized in many self-help books, but ultimately this one just kind of fell a little flat for me. It feels like many of these concepts have been explored frequently elsewhere. While you may still find some take-aways, I’d maybe consider borrowing this one.

Hard-Cover Worthy- 5/5 Stars!

So we follow Addie LaRue after she makes a deal with a God of Darkness, and suddenly finds herself immortal; the story winds its way through history, layered with the present. I’m a sucker for a ‘plausible’ fantasy,  historical references, and a strong, smart female lead and this book hit all of those notes.

Educated by Tara Westover

A story about personal growth and of course, the difference an education can make in not just our knowledge but our self-perception and how we view the world. Tara does a beautiful job of recounting her life growing up and persevering through family turmoil, and the isolation of her rural roots.
