Morning Readers & Happy Monday!

To be honest, I’m still a little fried from end of semester assignments & work around the property prepping ‘The Meadow House’ for its Airbnb debut, which is why probably why this book was a perfect fit. A cute weekend read with an interesting story arch, inspiration base and narration style. A quick google search reveals a lot of Reid’s inspiration that came from Fleetwood Mac & of course there is the Prime TV series that was released in 2023. A light plot twist and finishing character development is looped into a real-life ending that I can appreciate and get behind.

While it was an easy read, some of these quotes though still just hit the heart:

“I had absolutely no interest in being somebody else’s muse. I am the somebody”

‘That’s the glory of being a man. An ugly face isn’t the end of you.”

“We are talking about probably the first man in my life who really saw me, who ever really understood me, who had so much in common with me… and he still didn’t love me.”

“Which is what we all want from art, isn’t it? When someone pins down something that feels like it lives inside us? Takes a piece of your heart out and shows it to you? It’s like they are introducing you to a part of yourself.”

“It’s like some of us are chasing after our nightmares the way other people chase dreams”

“They just put themselves on ice in the hopes that they can come back one day? That’s what happened to my soul. On ice.”

“Passion is…it’s fire. And fire is great, man. But we’re made of water. Water is how we keep living. Water is what need to survive. My family was my water. I picked water. I’ll pick water every time.”

“Because I loved her with all of my fucking soul. To this day, there is a piece of me that still loves her. And there is a piece of me that will never forgive her.”

“I decided I don’t need a perfect love and I don’t need a perfect husband and I don’t need perfect kids and a perfect life and all that. I want mine. I want my love, my husband, my kids, my life. “I’m not perfect. I’ll never be perfect. But things don’t have to be perfect to be strong”

I tried giving the series on Amazon Prime a go as well, and again, a cute easy watch. They did seem to take a lot of liberties with the script, ones you thought could have layered well on top of the interview format of the book, but really that kind of took away from the character development.

But overall just a genuinely cute, easy read and definitely Kindle Worthy.

Happy Reading!
