Morning Readers & Happy Friday!
This week was my daughter’s (high school) and my sister’s (college) graduations, and oh my goodness we have been celebrating! It’s been wild to watch the two of them grow into the young women that they are, but especially my daughter. It’s absolutely mind boggling when I look at her and remember the pudgy toes, those maniacal laughs when I tickled her belly or chased her around the house. I remember her so proud of her new-found style in her first pair of cowboy boots, or reading the nutritional label off the sprinkles, straight faced, trying to convince me that 1,000% sugar is actually really good for you and we need them. And now suddenly she’s grown, graduated from the same high school I went to, and ready to start a life of her own. Smart, decidedly stubborn, and so beautiful, body & soul.
All I have to say is thank goodness I had this book to tune down to. It was a lovely story of about a cast of characters finding each other and an octopus helping to connect them all. It was a little predictable, but in a heart warming, easy weekend read kind of a way. I did like that the two main characters stayed true to their character throughout the book. While Tova may be so practical in her decisioning it drives you crazy, and Cameron is an immature 30 year old man child, the author Shelby shows and embraces all sides of her characters and stays true to who they are without the need of an all consuming revelation & personality shift.
Overall it was an enjoyable read that reminded me ‘Things Just Happen’. It’s how we go about dealing with and managing those circumstances when life doesn’t turn out exactly the way we thought it would that can make the biggest difference in us moving forward. Definitely Kindle & Read Worthy!
Happy Reading!
