What I Read this Month; May 2025

Morning Readers, & oh my gosh, we made it to June!

Surviving this month has been no small feat, and finding time to read even more so. Between work, school, family and trying to keep my sanity these are the books I managed to read this month and a quick round up of what I thought, just incase you need a few suggestions for this weekend!

The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand

Kindle Worthy- 3/5 Stars

At first I’m thinking, a ghost… really? But I can honestly say I get it now, Elin Hilderbrand was able to create a cast of full characters that you could really emphasize with, not just a main character.

The Mountain is You by Brianna Wiest

Kindle Worthy3/5 Stars

It might actually be the one audiobook I’ve listened to that may read better as an actual book. A good read with some great insight, coming from a perspective I personally resonate with… You are your own worst enemy and it’s time to stop standing in your own way. I think there’s some hard truths we all need to hear and come to terms with.

Whiskey in a Tea Cup by Reese Witherspoon

Cute- 2.5/5 Stars

I think it’s a good book if you’re a fan of Reese or are just looking for an easy read/listen with some feel good, southern charm. It was the perfect easy listen for a day in the garden.

Nora Goes Off-Script by Annabel Monaghan

Shelf Worthy- 4/5 Stars

This book was a sit your butt down with a glass of wine and binge read for a couple of evenings. I truly appreciated a rational character in the midst of a ‘cute romance’ novel, one that reflects with a certain amount of clarity and level-headedness.

Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey

Hardcover Worthy- 5/5 Stars!

This is probably going to end up as one of my favorite books of the year; a side of the actor I honestly never would have imagined, it hit all the right notes. It was the perfect mix of humility and self assuredness, a passion for the serendipity of life while cashing in the reality check of hard work and perspective. I cannot recommend this book enough!

It was actually a good month, book wise, and I think if I can manifest anything for the next, it’s a day on the porch, a cocktail, some sunshine and nothing to do but read a good book or two. I’m hoping some of that sunshine and a few of those good reads manage to find their way to you as well!

Happy Reading this Weekend!
